With its lake and volcanoes, not to mention its little-known Araucania glacier, this trip promises a complete escape in impressive landscapes. There is no shortage of snow activities: between skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and decompressing in a sauna, there’s something for everyone.
This tour will transport you to Conguillío National Park, which you will explore through unusual, active experiences.
The itinerary is fast-paced, but it includes some well-deserved moments of relaxation. Accommodation is provided in a comfortable double room. The hotel is environmentally friendly and has a sauna, hot tub and a la carte massages for some self care after a busy day on the slopes.
An adventurous getaway awaits you:
Your chauffeur will drive you to the Santiago airport so you can catch your domestic flight to Temuco. Upon arrival, you will be able to pick up your rental car and take the path to the Conguillío National Reserve! This beautiful park is dominated by the Llaima volcano, whose snow-capped summit rises to more than 10,200 feet and is home to native species such as the millennial araucaria trees.
You can then get settled in your comfortable cabin surrounded by nature. After, drive to discover the park’s places of interest: Laguna Verde, Laguna Conguillío, and Laguna Arcoíris (Rainbow Lake).
Today you will leave whenever you’re ready for the park’s unmissable hike, the Sierra Nevada! This 6-mile trek will offer you incredible views of Lake Conguillío, the Llaima volcano and the glaciers. Breathtaking landscapes are guaranteed! The hike rises to over 5,400 feet above sea level, offering two superb viewpoints. You will traipse through year-round snow and find yourself at the base of many waterfalls. Allow about 6 hours round trip.
Head to the Sollipulli volcano for an unforgettable ascent towards its glacier! This unusual adventure will take you through dazzling landscapes. Allow for about 8 hours of trekking and increasing difficulty in winter. On your return, enjoy a great massage or a relaxing moment in the hotel’s jacuzzi. You’ve earned it!
A morning of winter sports–skiing, snowboarding, or sledding–awaits you at the Llaima volcano ski resort. Alternatively, other activities are available to you such as zip lining or kayaking on the lake. Then, it will be time to return to Temuco for your domestic flight back to Santiago, the capital.
