This 9-day tour along the wine route of Chile and Argentina will offer you unforgettable experiences in the most beautiful wine regions of South America, surrounded by the impressive Andes.

In Chile, you will discover Santiago and its rich culture and history. As far as wine goes, your journey will take you through Maipo Valley, Casablanca Valley and obviously Colchagua Valley. These vineyards embody forgotten French grapes, incredible reds, and exciting innovation.

In Argentina, your English-speaking guide and driver will take you through the absolute best of Mendoza region. You will enjoy Argentinian wine-making traditions, including malbec in Lujan de Cuyo and high-altitude wineries in Valle de Uco. In Buenos Aires, you will fall in love with tango culture and a vibrant atmosphere. 

This rich immersion into South American wine traditions will be accompanied by extraordinary accommodations. A driver is included, so you can relax while exploring and sipping in the best conditions.

Itinerary

Day 1Welcome to Chile!

Upon arrival in Santiago, Chile’s capital city, your personal driver will pick you up from the airport and drop you off at your hotel. Rest up in the exclusive, artistic atmosphere of your hotel. Then, you’ll be ready to explore the bustling Chilean metropolis. The Plaza de Armas, the historic district, and Cerro San Cristobal are must-sees during your visit to the city.

End your day with a traditional dinner in the bohemian Bellavista neighborhood.

Day 2The cradle of Chilean wine-making

Today, your private transfer will take you to experience a special day in Maipo Valley. Just one hour away from Santiago, you will discover one of the oldest and most traditional wine valleys of Chile. Maipo Valley, with its famous French wine-making traditions, will delight you. 

During this wine tour, you will discover 2 of these incredible vineyards of your choice:

  • Concha y Toro Vineyards: stroll through the magnificent 19th century gardens and the varietal garden with over 25 wine grape varieties! During the visit, you will have a privileged view of the Maipo Valley with a tasting of 3 premium wines. Discover the best examples of Chilean wines through this exclusive tasting. Enjoy a tasting guided by sommeliers and accompanied by fine cheeses.
  • Viña Santa Rita: join a guided tour of the vineyards by horse-drawn carriage to see the famous Carménère monolith, which marks the exact place where this lost grape was rediscovered in 1994. Visit the historic Santa Rita wineries where an exciting story of the brave Chilean patriots awaits you. The tour ends with a tasting of three ultra premium wines paired with cheeses, crackers, and nuts. You can also visit the excellent Andean Museum.
  • or Viña Aquitania: discover a modern boutique vineyard located at the foot of the Andes mountains that is focused on the creation of high quality wines in limited quantities. You will have the opportunity to observe the entire wine production process, where modern equipment is used and the tradition of artisanal processes is preserved.  The visit ends with a tasting of 4 premium wines of the vineyard. 

Your driver will drop you off at your hotel in Santiago to enjoy another unique night in the city.

Day 3Immersion in the biodynamic wine world

Head today, with your private driver, to Casablanca Valley, a beautiful valley nestled between the Pacific Ocean and beautiful mountains rich with granite soil. The Casablanca region is home to refined and exciting white wines, such as their famous Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes.

The day will start at Matetic Vineyards, a revolutionary organic and biodynamic winery. There you will taste and immerse yourself in the pioneering world of cold weather Syrah grape production in Chile.

During a guided tour, you will be able to understand the vinification (winemaking) process of  organic and biodynamic wines, where harmony with nature is the key to success. The tour ends with a tasting of the premium and super premium lines Corralillo or EQ of your choice.

Enjoy the rest of the day to simply relax in the vineyard’s tranquil setting or opt for an adventurous outdoor activity in nature. The hotel offers cycling, trekking, and horseback riding with a guided tour through the Rosario Valley.

You will spend the night in La Casona on the property of the vineyard.

Day 4On the way to Colchalgua wine region

Your driver will take you back to Santiago today. There, your comfortable rental car will be waiting for you for another road trip adventure.

You will drive towards Colchagua region, known for producing some of Chile’s best wines. Red wine lovers will definitely be thrilled by the red grape varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Syrah, and Malbec.

In a couple of hours, you will arrive at Vik Vineyards, a unique and revolutionary winery concept. This holistic vineyard births world-class wines and combines unprecedented design, which is avant-garde, highly sustainable, and technologically creative. Enjoy a premium tour, guided by winemakers and sommeliers. The wine tour includes a glass of their award-winning blends: Milla Cala, La Piu Belle, and their iconic VIK.

Enjoy the rest of your day by the pool of your luxurious hotel or take a detour to the museum of Colchalgua.

Overnight: Noi Blend Colchagua, deluxe room, all inclusive.

Day 5Through the Andes to Argentina

Spend a relaxing morning at your boutique hotel. Then, it is time to get back on the road to Santiago. There, your driver will be waiting to take you to the other side of the Andes, to Argentina. During a 6-hour journey, you will discover the beautiful “cordillera” from the comfort of your car.

Welcome to Mendoza, Argentina! Mendoza is home to the most renowned wine region in Argentina and hosts an incredible variety of vineyards.

End the day by getting some rest in your Colonial-style hotel and its spa facilities.

Day 6Discover the most dramatic wine sceneries

Your guide will drive you through the Mendoza wine region to uncover its secrets. More precisely, you will explore Valley de Uco. You will reach high altitude in the mountains to discover some of the most breathtaking vineyards.

Immerse yourself completely in Argentinean wine-making tradition by discovering 3 unique vineyards. Depending on your preferences, you will visit La Azul Vineyard, La Celia, Andeluna, Atamisque, Jean Bousquet, O. Fournier, or even Saletein Winery.

Overnight: Posada Verde Oliva, Mendoza.

Day 7 Taste the finest Argentinean Malbec

With your English-speaking guide, you will reach the treasure of Lujan de Cuyo, the most traditional and finest wine-making site of Argentina. Lujan de Cuyo is known internationally for some of the world’s finest Malbec grapes.

Discover the best of the best of Argentinean wine touring and tasting in 2 vineyards: Domaine St. Diego, Catena Zapata, Bodega Septima, or even Cheval des Andes, all internationally recognized in the industry.

Overnight: Posada Verde Oliva, Mendoza.

Day 8 Explore Buenos Aires

This morning, hop on your transfer to reach the Mendoza airport for a short domestic flight to Buenos Aires. The “South American Paris” is the continent’s symbol of historic and cultural authenticity.

Discover the city of Buenos Aires and its key sights in complete freedom. We highly recommend la Plaza de Mayo, Tortoni coffee shop, and the Puerto Madero docks.

Bring the day to a close in the Tango historical neighborhood with a traditional VIP tango show, followed by a delicious dinner.

Overnight: l’Adresse Hotel Boutique, Buenos Aires.

Day 9Goodbye, Latin America!

Your unforgettable immersion into South-American wines, heritage, and culture has come to a close.

Enjoy one last walk around Buenos Aires before your transfer to the capital’s international airport. It is now time to take your international flight back home.
